The Fowl Farmer is excited to once again provide fresh J.D. Farms speciality turkeys available for pickup at the Southlands Tsawwassen Red Barn for Christmas!

The Farmers Market takes place in the Market Square every Saturday, and provides an open-air hub where agriculture intersects with the community. All turkeys can be pre-ordered prior to the markets, and will be available for pickup at Southlands Tsawwassen Red Barn. Count on us being there on Friday, December 20th from 4:00-6:30pm. Turkey information:

  • Turkeys raised under the JD Farms specialty turkey certification are fed a natural diet of non-GMO grain, vitamins and minerals without any antibiotics or animal by-products. The turkeys are raised in spacious, well-ventilated barns with free access to fresh water and a constant supply of fresh feed. Special care and diet bring about the highest quality and exceptional flavor.

  • We take payment upon pickup, as the exact weight and therefore the price cannot be confirmed until the turkeys arrive.

  • We take orders in size ranges - we will do our very best to accommodate a specific size request, however we won’t know exactly what we will have as the turkeys are still happily wandering around! Once our inventory arrives fresh a few days before pickup, we then match size requests in priority sequence based off the date ordered to our inventory.

What size turkey do I need?

The general rule is a pound a person, allowing for a pound or two for the carcass. The bigger the turkey, the bigger the carcass! The amount of leftovers you would like depends on your preference. For those looking for a turkey over 20 pounds, we recommend ordering two smaller turkeys if you have the oven space. That way, you actually have more selection of light and dark meat as well!

Breast and thigh meat rolled in a netting - no bones (approximately 2 KG)
