The Fowl Farmer in Richmond is in search of a General Manager!

We are a small family-run farm-gate market in East Richmond. The May family have been farming in Richmond for over 100 years, and our market has been in operation since 2012. As long-time farmers, we believe in eating and supporting local: our market focuses on made-in-BC fresh and frozen poultry, other meats, artisan products, and so much more. We love our loyal customers, and are growing our business year over year. We’re a small team, and we are looking for your help to grow and support our business to grow! 

The position: Manager (14 month contract to start by August, covering maternity leave)

This role would assist the owners in all aspects of daily operations including product purchasing, merchandising, invoicing, scheduling, customer service, in store transactions and special projects as assigned. Lead and develop team members – we are a small, family run business so the right fit is important! Follow through on all customer questions, requests and resolving concerns as needed. We are looking for a self-motivated, positive individual with good time management skills. The right individual must be able to work weekends and have their own mode of transport. 

Desired Work Experience:

·      Retail experience, specifically with poultry 

·      Food Safe Certification or willingness to become certified

·      1+ year of Leadership Experience  

·      Customer Service Focus

·      Store Operations (Inventory, Payroll, Scheduling, Cost Control)

·      Team Oriented 

·      Knowledge of our market is an asset
